Short Statement: The estimated total annual hour burden for rule 31a-1 has decreased from 2,892,400 hours to 2,820,300. This decrease is the result of a decrease in the number of registered funds from 4132 to 4029, which reflects an estimate of the number of active investment companies registered with the Commission as of March 31, 2017, based on statistics compiled by Commission staff.
