Abstract:
The previously approved collection of information relates to applications for withholding certificates under Treas. Reg. 1.1445-1 to be filed with the IRS with respect to (1) dispositions of U.S. real property interests that have been used by foreign persons as a principle residence within the prior 5 years and excluded from gross income under section 121 and (2) dispositions of U.S. real property interests by foreign persons in deferred like kind exchanges that qualify for nonrecognition under section 1031.

On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
