Short Statement:
The FAA Aerospace Forecast for Fiscal years 2018-projects a greater increase in the sUAS fleet than used in the previous calculation for this ICR. For the purposes of this revision/renewal the FAA has increased the transparency in its forms and calculations and split the ICs by line of business(Airspace Waiver, Airspace Authorization, and Operational Waivers) and by IC format (Web Portal and LAANC) Form 1 - AA/LAANC, reflects an increase of 52,143 respondents for a total respondent/burden of 52155/5172 reflecting the full-rollout of the LAANC program/capability and increase in anticipated participants. Form 2 - AA/Web Portal increase to 15,550 respondents reflects both increase in estimates to the sUAS population and its instantiation as a stand-alone IC. The reduction in responses for Form 3 - AW Portal reflects the removal of burden not associated with Airspace Waivers submitted by the Web Portal from the collection as well as an overall increase in waiver requests. In previous submissions the FAA combined the IC for Operational and Airspace waivers, the introduction of Form 4 - OW/Portal presents the annual respondent/burden (5,056/3,286) specific to this OW activity and reflects the growing sUAS population.
