Short Statement:
NIST is requesting an increase in the number of respondents and burden hours for this Generic Usability Data Collection to meet the needs of NIST programs responsible for promoting U.S. economic growth by working with industry to develop and apply technology, measurements, and standards. The Management & Organization (M&O) Office is responsible for overseeing the Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) Program at NIST. M&O has been conducting extensive outreach and training to our NIST customers regarding PRA requirements. M&O’s broad outreach efforts include discussions with NIST staff at all levels of the agency in the use of information collections for their specific program needs. This outreach has generated additional requests for approvals of proposed information collections that were not anticipated or planned at the time of the original submission to OMB for this generic clearance. Based on this increase of activity, NIST is requesting the previously approved burdens for this Generic umbrella to be increased to ensure NIST remains in compliance with the PRA requirements. NIST is respectfully requesting to increase the ICR Annual Response allotment from 12,000 to 22,000 Responses; and the ICR Annual Hours allotment from 5,000 to 10,000 hours. NIST assures that NO changes will be made to any the individual information collection requests that are currently approved for use. Thank you for your consideration.
