Short Statement: OSHA is requesting an increase adjustment in the number of burden hours from 9,773 hours to 11,813, a total increase of 2,040 burden hours. This increase is due to the increase in the number of establishments. In this ICR, the scope of the maritime standards, 29 CFR part 1915 for slings, shackles, and hooks, are based on the Final Economic Analysis for the final rule revising subpart F of 29 CFR part 1915 prepared by OSHA’s Office of Regulatory Analysis. The revision of the standard applies to all shipyard employment, which is defined in 1915.4(i) as ship repairing, shipbuilding, shipbreaking, and related employment.
