Short Statement: The burden hours have decreased due to the information currently being collected annually from shipyards as opposed to quarterly. It was determined by MARAD’s Office of Shipyards and Marine Engineering that they only need to surveil the shipyards once a year (vice 4 times) as the data rarely changes during the year.
