Short Statement: The Commission has made the following adjustments to its estimated burdens: (a) the Commission has increased the number of estimated annual responses from 41 to 51. The increase is largely due to the fact that, over the past three years, there has been an increase in the number of background investigations conducted on individual entities; (b) the Commission has decreased the number of the estimated burden hours from 693 to 440. This decrease is primarily due to the fact that, based on tribal feedback, average hours per response decreased from 20 to 8 and, secondarily, due to the fact that the number of management contract amendment submissions has showed a slight decline over the past three years; and, (c) the Commission has decreased the estimated annual cost burden from $500,000 to $379,480 and this reflective of the decrease of background investigation hours from 500 to 440.
