Abstract:
The collections of information required from employers by OSHA are necessary to determine compliance with requirements that are intended to reduce employee injuries and fatalities associated with cargo lifting gear, transfer of vehicular cargo manual cargo handling, and exposure to hazardous atmospheres.

Short Statement:
OSHA is requesting an adjustment decrease in the number of burden hours from 65,694 hours to 57,797 hours, a difference of 7,897 hours. The adjustment is due to an increase in the number of longshoring operations from 871 to 916 establishments and a reduction in the number of port and harbor operations from 525 to 332 establishments.
