Abstract:
The information collected will be used to determine whether the applicant meets the eligibility requirements for benefits under 8 CFR 245A, Subpart C. If the applicant fully demonstrates eligibility, the application will be approved, and USCIS will issue an employment authorization document and approval notice to the applicant.

There is an estimated decrease in the annual hour burden from 4,302 to 3,170; an estimated total decrease of 1,132. This is due to a decrease in the agency’s estimation of the number of respondents for the form. There is no change in the information being collected. There is a decrease in the estimated cost burden associated with this information collection due to the collection of more accurate data on the number of Form I-817 filings since the previous information collection. The privacy notice in the instructions was updated.
