Terms of Clearance: This collection is being approved for 1 year due to lack of response from the USFS to OMB comments (three months). The USFS is reminded to state whether the collection is voluntary or mandatory and cite the authority to collect (5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3)(iv)) on all forms. Upon resubmission, the USFS is required to calculate burden based on the estimated burden for the three year period approved by this ICR and not based on the actual burden of the previous 3 years. USFS is required to consult with up to 9 outside entities per 1320.8(d)(1), which can aid the USFS in estimating the burden and number of respondents. In addition, upon resubmission, USFS must provide a burden and cost estimate for permits that require road maintenance to be perform, and update the forms for online submission.
