Terms of Clearance: Previous terms continue: Approved with the understanding that individual GenIC requests will be submitted and the submission will include any instruments to be used in data collection along with a description of the aims, population, and methods of the particular project. All GenIC requests will contain a complete justification for any incentives offered. All individual projects under this Generic will be one-time data collections involving a specific combination of public health topic of concern, geographic area, and targeted group(s) of foreign born.

Short Statement: CDC DGMQ was limited in the number of information collections it could perform with foreign born populations in the United States during the previous three years due to a combination several factors: emergency responses that prevented key Unit staff from focusing on carrying on these types of GenIC’s, a lack of specific project funding, and a transition of key Unit leadership to another office. These factors have subsided, and with the current Zika outbreak and improved communicating regarding the availability of this generic information collection to select CDC staff, CDC believes that conducting information collections under the burden described above is feasible.
