Abstract:
Permits are required for persons to participate in Federally-managed fisheries off the West Coast. The permit application forms provide basic information about permit holders and the vessels and gear being used. This information is important for understanding the nature of the fisheries and provides a link to participants.

An increased number of HMS applications were received, while there is a decrease in the number of LE DGN permits and LE DGN new applications are removed from this collection. There is also a reduction in the cost of HMS applications. LE DGN Designation Requests and LE DGN Exemption Requests are added to this collection, resulting in an increase in 2 responses and 2 burden hours.

On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding the proposed collection of information, that the certification covers:
