Short Statement: Changes in burden have dropped due to fewer walrus, sea otters, and polar bears being harvested in the last three years. The cost estimate to the federal government has also dropped as there is now only one biologist working on MTRP full time and one working part time. Travel has thus gone down as only one person is doing MTRP travel. Tagger payments and supplies have remained the same. The only changes made to the certificate books have been made to FWS Form 3-2414 “Polar Bear tagging Certificate” (see question 2).
