Short Statement: There is an overall decrease in burden hours due to the FTZ Board staff amending the methodology used to categorize the size of foreign-trade zones in terms of FTZ activity. The revised methodolgy types zones based on the number of users in each zone versus the total value of merchandise that transits a zone, which is a more accurate reflection total burden hours. The revised methodology resulted in fewer large zones and more medium and small zones, thus the reduction in total burden hours.
