Short Statement: TSA has updated the cost burden for this collection with the latest available data. There was a decrease in estimated Federal Government costs due to no longer having a $1,200 enrollment system cost. This reduction also decreased time burden estimate for the collection and vetting process on the respondents as well as providing other options for vetting (i.e., federal background investigation, or clearance) which do not require the full time of pre-enrollment and fingerprinting. TSA used current data to update the time-burden estimate for the collection. Also, respondents who have already received a comparable threat assessment from TSA will not incur a fee.
