Abstract:
The Family Reunification Packet for Sponsors of Unaccompanied Children allows ACF to conduct suitability assessments to vet potential sponsors of unaccompanied alien children in. Specifically, the information collection allows the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) to obtain biometric and biographical information from sponsors, adult members of their household, and adult caregivers identified in a sponsor care plan, where applicable. ORR in turn shares the information collected with other federal departments to conduct background checks. The information collection is essential to the mission of the agency. This change request is to make some minor updates to forms and supplemental materials, as well as to update the title of the collection from “Sponsor Review Procedures for Unaccompanied Alien Children” to “Family Reunification Packet for Sponsors of Unaccompanied Children.”
