Abstract:
The information collection is part of a joint effort between the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and the U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD), to maintain a working data set on active U.S. Shipyards. The information collected is critical in providing both organizations with a comprehensive list of U.S. commercial shipyards and their capabilities and capacities. The form, SF-17, "Facilities Available for the Construction or Repair of Ships" will be converted to a Common Form.

On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
