Abstract:
Each operator which seeks to obtain, or is in possession of, an air carrier or FAA operating certificate is mandated to comply with the requirements of 14 CFR part 135 in order to maintain data which is used to determine if the carrier is operating in accordance with minimum safety standards. Air carrier and commercial operator certification is completed in accordance with 14 CFR part 119. Part 135 contains operations and maintenance requirements. The burden associated with 14 CFR part 135 is associated with reporting, recordkeeping and disclosure.

Short Statement:
The wage tables used to calculate the burden were updated to better reflect the wages paid today. The burden for 135.153 was removed as that regulation is no longer in effect. The number of current Part 135 operators was updated to reflect the current number of operators in July 2021. The number of pilots and flight attendants was also updated to reflect July 2021 numbers. The costs to the Federal Government section was amended. All of the responsibility for oversight associated with the regulations below is part of an Aviation Safety Inspector’s normal job functions. No additional costs are accrued due to this collection of information.
