Terms of Clearance:
OIRA review resulted in CBP removing social media identifiers as a required field; this data point is now optional and will be clearly labeled as such. Terms of clearance: CBP will collect data on the efficacy of the “live” facial photograph to support identification and screening and to deter malafide actors. Additionally, CBP will collect data to determine how well the "liveness" test works across different demographic groups in order to assess whether the new biometrics collection is both equitable and reliable. This information will be provided to OIRA at the next revision or renewal action.

Abstract:
Form I-94 (Arrival/Departure Record) and Form I-94W (Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver Arrival/Departure) are used to document a traveler's admission into the United States. These forms include date of arrival, visa classification and the date the authorized stay expires. The forms are also used by business employers and other organizations to confirm legal status in the United States. The Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) applies to aliens traveling to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) and requires that VWP travelers provide information electronically to CBP before embarking on travel to the United States.

Yes
Burden Reduction Due to:
Using Information Technology
Short Statement:
There has been a decrease in the estimated annual burden hours previously reported due to: 1.) 2,500,000-million-hour reduction due to agency discretion, in tandem with burden reduction efforts, CBP's modernized tech. 2. ESTA Fee increased so public cost calculations have been adjusted. A reduction in burden due to agency estimates: 1.) A reduction in the level of participants/respondents and responses in the program (from approximately 19 million to 15 million annual applications received), not caused by a change in the program. 2.) Further correction in estimates regarding burden calculations led to a further decrease in the reported annual burden hours. Agency estimates not related to any changes.
Annual Cost to Federal Government:
$233,473,046
