In response to the emergency request memorandum submitted by the SEC on 11/15/2022, OIRA is approving the Commission's request for emergency approval of this OMB control number for a period of six months. Abstract:
Form BD is used to apply to the Commission for registration as a broker-dealer, non-bank municipal securities dealer, or non-bank government securities broker-dealer, and to amend such applications.
Emergency Justfication:
The SEC’s Internal Sharepoint System that they use to track and process all of their PRA’s failed resulting in the 30 and 60 Day Notices not being sent to the Federal Register for timely Publishing, therefore the ICR Expiration Date was missed. The reduction in the annual time burden (from approximately 4,118 hours to approximately 3,703 hours) is due to a reduction in the number of registered broker dealers (from 3,813 to 3,553), and a reduction in the estimated number of applications (from 183 to 175) and amendments (from 10,954 to 9,667) the staff expects broker-dealers to file on Form BD.
