Short Statement:
Although the number of unique EBS requests sent increased slightly (6,779 annual average versus 6,477 annual average from the prior comparable 25-month figure reported in 2018), the annual aggregate hour reporting burden decreased overall. The decreases in burden reflect a decrease in (1) the number of electronic responses received (223,057 annual average versus 253,705 annual average from the prior comparable 25-month figure reported in 2018); and (2) the number of manual responses received (122 annual average versus 500 annual average from the prior annual figure reported in 2018). Accounting for all of these changes, the annual aggregate hour reporting burden has decreased from 34,577 in 2018 to 29,924 currently. This decrease reflects the changing regulatory and enforcement inquiries and investigations using the EBS system. The number of annual requests sent increased slightly, however, the number of responses decreased, indicating the nature of trading activity involved in those inquiries contained in a lower number of multiple responses to a single request.
