Abstract:
This information collection maintains the safe use of high-voltage continuous mining machines (HVCMMs) in underground coal mines by requiring testing, examination and maintenance on machines to reduce fire, electrical shock, ignition and operation hazards.

The number of respondents, which is based on the number of mines using HVCMMs remained at 3. The number of HVCMMs decreased from 13 to 11, so the number of responses decreased by 718 from 4,810 to 4,092. The number of burden hours decreased by 24 hours, from 148 hours to 125 hours. Costs to respondents and record-keepers remain at $0 .
