Short Statement:
Page 5 why is this element now critical; it was non-critical in prior evals Achieving Results through Special Projects - Continually focuses on achieving results in support of the Planning and Regulatory Affairs Office (PRAO) and OPS and holds self and other staff members accountable for achieving results that advance the FNS mission and USDA's Strategic Goals. Accomplishes work assigned by Branch Chief required to develop and implement special projects, including but not limited to FNS priority initiatives. Specific assignments and timeframes are subject to change based on guidance from Branch Chief. The Agency removed burden related to application processing for new applications resulting from households being removed from the program and then later submitting another application (“churn”) because OMB Control Number 0584-0064 (expiration 2/29/2024) covers application processing components under 7 CFR 273.2. Therefore, the burden for this set of requirements represents a decrease of 50,200 annual responses and a decrease of 412,414.25 burden hours from the previous approval of this collection. Resource Verification With this information collection request, FNS is seeking OMB approval for the burden hours associated with resource verification information that is currently being collected in violation without a valid OMB control number or approved by OMB. Therefore, FNS is adding an additional 3,676,176 annual responses and 640,867.13 burden hours to this information collection to account for resource verification burden on SNAP individuals/households and SNAP State agencies.

$8,157,334
