Abstract:
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is required to manage commercial, competitive and organized group recreational uses of the public lands, and individual use of special areas. The BLM must assess, evaluate and authorize (permit) activities proposed to be conducted on public land. This OMB Control Number is currently scheduled to expire on April 30, 2023. The BLM request that OMB renew this OMB Control Number for an additional three years.

There are no program changes requested with this submission. The BLM is requesting an adjustment increase to the overall annual burden for this information collection. The estimated annual burden is estimated to increase by 308 hours (from 5,292 to 5,600). This increase in burden hours results from increasing the number of estimated annual responses from 1,323 to 1,400. The increase in the number of responses is a result of increase demand for recreation permits.
