Abstract:
This submission is to update the number of estimated respondents in the U.S. Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Business Travel Card program (ABTC). The original estimate was made prior to the commencement of this program. Now that this program is active, there have been more respondents than anticipated so CBP is updating the estimated number of respondents for ABTC, plus the estimates for Global Entry and the Global Entry kiosks because the ABTC participants must submit information under these programs as well. This collection of information is for CBP's Trusted Traveler Programs including the Secure Electronic Network for Travelers Rapid Inspection (SENTRI), which allows expedited entry at specified southwest land border ports of entry, and the Free and Secure Trade program (FAST), which provides expedited border processing for known, low-risk commercial drivers, and Global Entry which allows pre-approved, low-risk air travelers expedited processing upon arrival into the United States. CBP recently added the ABTC to this information collection. Those participating in ABTC must also be members of Global Entry,.

Short Statement:
CBP is using new technology that will help alleviate burden on public. The new portal technology advantage over the kiosks, is the touchless processing. Travelers now only need to look at the screen to be processed within 5 seconds, as opposed to 1 minute at a kiosk; reducing the burden reported for GE portals from 50,583 hours, down to 14,271 hours, a decrease of 36,312 hours. Despite an increase in the number of respondents using GE Portals, CBP has lowered the total reported burden for this information collection from 1,184,723 down to 1,148,411.
