Abstract:
Form 6478 is used to figure your section 40 biofuel producer credit. Taxpayers may claim the credit for the tax year in which the sale or use occurs. This credit consists of the second generation biofuel producer credit.

There are no changes in the paperwork burden previously approved by OMB. However, the burden for Form 6478 has decreased due to better estimates based on the number of taxpayers filing the forms and to avoid duplication. This decreases the burden by 3,150 responses and 12,631.50 hours due to adjustment in Agency Estimates.
