Terms of Clearance: Future burden numbers should reflect approval of package (THREE years rather than ONE year). Previous terms continue: This generic clearance for HHS challenges/competitions is approved under the following conditions: 1. HHS shall use the generic clearance to host challenges/competitions, not to collect data from the public to inform significant policy or resource allocation decisions. 2. Before running a challenge/competition, HHS shall submit a generic IC in ROCIS with (a) the Federal Register notice for the Challenge or the contest; (b) an abbreviated supporting statement in the template agreed to by OMB and HHS (included as a Supplementary Document in the ROCIS record); and (c) a screen shot, or reasonable facsimile, of any questionnaires that an entrant will be asked to submit as part of their entry (included as an "instrument" in the ROCIS record).

Abstract: The request is being sought so as to implement the uses of Challenge competitions as a means to promote innovative solutions to the problems and needs confronting DHHS. The approval seeks to enable specific information necessary to perform the evaluation of solutions provided by individuals and/or organizations requested by the Federal government. This Non-Substantive Change Request is submitted to add an additional 215 burden hours and 275 responses to the approved collection for CDC use of Generic mechanism.
