Abstract:
These surveys provide commercial slaughter and red meat production by species. Federally inspected slaughter data enables the Food Safety and Inspection Service to fulfill its responsibilities mandated by the Federal Meat Inspection Act. Estimates are used by Government, industry, and the private sector in production and marketing decisions, and for economic analysis and research. This request is for three years. Only minor adjustments have been made to sample sizes and respondent burden.
