Abstract:
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) through its Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) administers an integrated program of benefits and services, established by law, for Veterans, service personnel, and their dependents and/or beneficiaries. Additionally, Title 38 United States Code (U.S.C.) 501(a) provides VA the authority to collect this information. 38 U.S.C 3116 and 3117 authorizes the VA to provide employment services. The VA Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) program refers Chapter 31 program participants to the American Job Center staff including Disabled Veterans’ Outreach Program (DVOP) specialists to assist with individualized career services. This form is required for the American Job Center staff to complete to indicate the Veteran’s participation, progress, and services provided to VR&E Veterans regarding his or her job seeking activities. The information collected will include job referrals, job seeking skills, employment resources, and workshop activities. This data gathered will assist the VR&E program to ensure participants in the VR&E program are provided with the necessary intensive employment services to assist them in obtaining and maintaining suitable employment.
