Terms of Clearance: Non-substantive change mechanism may be used to modify existing questions and add depth/additional detail to existing questions. Requests to add questions, including cycling modules in or out, must be consistent with the principles of the recent redesign. NCHS will conduct parallel cognitive testing for the social support and loneliness questions being introduced in 2024, which will be used to interpret the quality of those questions, including suitability for dissemination. NCHS will upload the results of the cognitive testing to ROCIS as a non-substantive change once the report has been completed.
