Short Statement: The estimated total annual burden has increased 7 hours, from 21 hours to 28 hours. Based on a review of filings, the number of funds relying on rule 17f-1 has increased from 6 to 8 funds. The annual cost burden has increased $32,168, from $60,168 to $92,336. This is attributable to an increase in the number of funds that rely on rule 17f-1 and changes in the costs of (i) outside counsel’s preparation of the custodial contract for the board’s review and their transmission of the contract to the Commission; and (ii) an independent public accountant’s verification of the fund’s assets three times each year and their preparation of the certificate of examination.
