Short Statement: A review of the amount of time needed and the number of applicants to the National Medal of Science, the Alan T. Waterman Award, the Vannervar Bush Award and the Science and Society Award led to either a decrease in the number of applicants and burdent time (Bush and Science and Society), and an increase in applicants (NMS and the Waterman Award).
