Abstract:
This biennial study will generate two reports and supporting datasets using information from State management information systems based on a near census of WIC participants. The results provide a wide range of demographic information on WIC clients, as well as measures of program performance. A change worksheet has been submitted to show additional follow-up questions concerning the WIC data that were not shown on the original appendix.

Short Statement:
This submission is a reinstatement, with changes, of a previously approved information collection that has expired. This information collection requires more burden hours than the 2020 and 2022 collections for a few reasons. As described above, the new collection includes longitudinal data over 24 months instead of just 1 month of data. Also, this collection will collect electronic benefit transfer (EBT) data, which was not previously collected. FNS estimates that with the addition of the longitudinal WIC PC data and longitudinal EBT data collections, that this collection will require 6,066.6 burden hours (3,033.30 hours per year) and 1,556 responses (778 per year) for both years of collection, combined. (see appendix H and table A.12.1). In the 2020 and 2022 collections, the number hours estimated was 629 in total, and the number of responses estimated was 1,392 in total.
