Short Statement: The OITE currently uses OMB Number 0925-0299 to cover the collection of information for the various training programs and special events of the NIH Intramural Research Program. Over the last three years, program changes have resulted in a modification of the estimated burden hours, detailed below. Modifications increasing respondent burden: • universal application template yields higher time estimates for registrations vs. applications • over-estimates on the number of submissions • increased services for NIH and non-NIH trainees, students, and personnel • new surveys to assess the NIH trainee population composition • new survey to assess an NIH trainee’s research climate • include registrations for previously OMB Fast Track registrations Modifications decreasing respondent burden: • import personal profile to specific program applications • suspension of a few training programs • estimate application counts based on the number of submitted forms rather than started forms • modification of data collection for alumni database • exclude registrations for NIH-only events
