Abstract:
The United States International Trade Commission (Commission), at the request of the United States Trade Representative, is conducting a factfinding investigation (Inv. No. 332-598) to generate estimates of the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions intensities of a broad range of U.S. steel and aluminum products. This report will use questionnaire responses as inputs in the Commission’s calculation of emissions intensities. The Commission will deliver the results of its investigation to the Trade Representative by January 28, 2025.

The Commission currently imposes no reporting burden on businesses with respect to GHG emissions. The burden on businesses increased because of a request from the United States Trade Representative (USTR) to provide a report on this topic, part of which requires a primary data collection. Such data are not publicly available. This is a one-time collection for such data.
