Abstract: In accordance with Section 6(d)(4)(B)(i) of the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 (FNA), as amended, and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) regulations at 7 CFR 273.7(e)(1) requires State agencies to provide case management services, such as comprehensive intake assessments, individualized service plans, progress monitoring or coordination with service providers to all SNAP Employment and Training (E&T) participants. This collection documents the participants who receive case management services and recordkeeping of those services.

Short Statement: In this revision, FNS is requesting 1,431,364 total annual burden hours and 5,325,016 total annual responses. These changes resulted in a decrease of 711,555 total annual burden hours and a decrease of 2,662,508 total annual responses. These changes resulted in a decrease of 640,544 total annual burden hours and a decrease of 10,175,693 total annual responses. These decreases were a result of merging certain reporting burdens to OMB Control #0584-0064 and #0584-0594, an adjustment to the reporting of case management services and adding recordkeeping burden. Merging of reporting burdens to OMB Control #0584-0064 and #0584-0594: Total burden hours being merged to OMB Control #0584-0064 is 569,148 and 20,827 to OMB Control #0584-0594. Adjustments: Due to an adjustment for the projected number of individuals who would participate annually in States’ E&T programs and receive case management services the number of total respondents for individuals decreased from 460,000 to 375,000. This adjustment also resulted in a decrease for State agencies for the frequency of responses from 28,381 to 25,118. Additionally, due to a miscalculation in the currently approved burden for the number of hours per response for State agencies that resulted in a change from .0495 hours per response to .45 hours per response. Lastly the currently approved burden did not include recordkeeping burden for State agencies to maintain records on the provision of case management services. This results in an increase of 186,376 total annual burden hours and 1,331,254 total annual responses.
