Short Statement: The number of respondents is subject to change as changes to state laws may impact the number of checking agencies. Minor changes will occur on the survey instrument to reflect which types of applications or checks are relevant to the specific state the respondent is in. There is no change in the average annual respondent burden. BJS anticipates that the respondent burden for the 2023-2026 collections will average 25 minutes per respondent annually, consistent with the 2021 and 2022 collections.
