Short Statement: This adjustment is due to fewer than anticipated forms being filed. This form simplified and standardized the reaffirmation process for the borrower, institutions and loan holders. It also ensures continued enforceability of the student loan thereby maintaining fiscal accountability to the federal program and the taxpayer. The adjusted burden hours are 1,032, for 8,594 respondents for a savings of 421 hours.
