Abstract:
Form N-1A is the form used by open-end management investment companies, except small business investment companies and insurance company separate accounts, to register under the Investment Company Act of 1940 and to register their securities under the Securities Act of 1933. The SEC uses the information filed in registration statements to verify compliance with the federal securities laws.

The estimated hourly burden associated with Form N-1A has increased from 1,671,927 hours to 1,787,043 hours (an increase of 115,116 hours). The estimated cost burden associated with Form N-1A has increased from $132,700,008 to $143,540,098 (an increase of $10,840,090). This increase is due to the new requirement for each fund that is required to adopt and implement an 80% investment policy to include disclosure in its prospectus that defines the terms used in its name, including the specific criteria the fund uses to select the investments that the term describes, if any.
