Short Statement: The estimated public reporting burden for this collection of information was decreased from 60 to 45 minutes per response. USM-234 form was significantly cleaned up by eliminating most if not all the PII information we were collecting (probably 50% of the form). We were able to remove these fields because applicants (e.g., DSOs) are now required to obtain a Background Investigation from TOD before they can start working. Obviously, to obtain a BI, applicants will provide all this PII information to TOD.
