Abstract:
This request is for a study to deepen the field’s understanding of states’ and territories’ policies and practices regarding conducting in-state and interstate child abuse and neglect (CAN) registry checks for child care employment purposes, as required by the Child Care and Development Block Grant Act of 2014 (CCDBG). This information collection includes a descriptive, one-time web-based survey that will be administered to state Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Lead Agencies. The survey will go out to respondents in all 56 states, territories, and the District of Columbia.

On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding the proposed collection of information, that the certification covers:
