Short Statement: There is an increase in total response time of about 1400 hours compared to the previous ICR. This is due to an increase in the estimated total number of technicians certified annually (increase from 40,000 to 60,000) and an increase in the estimate of the total number of motor vehicle repair establishments in the United States (increase of 4,200 from 2021 to 2024). The number of approved technician certification programs increased and therefore the annual time burden increased as well.
