Abstract:
This information collection permits TSA to conduct a more effective oversight, planning, and regulatory function related to the affected parties, i.e., airport operators. The airport operators are charged under 49 CFR part 1542 with providing a safe and secure operating environment in which commercial passenger and other operations are conducted.

TSA revised its burden estimates from the previous Information Collection Request submission based on the latest available data. There was a change in both the number of responses and burden hours associated with this collection. There was an increase in the wage rate of a TSA TSI who conducts inspections of airport operators, and a decrease in the total annual cost burden.

On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
