Short Statement: On January 1, 2025, the FBI reduced the CHRC fee from $11.25 to $10.00, impacting the new and renewal enrollment fees. In addition, the annual respondents decreased from 741,518 to 705,039, because the responses to the enrollment customer and the card issuance process surveys decreased. Further, the annual time burden increased from 430,317 to 510,471 hours due to an increase in enrollments, renewals, replacement card and appeals. The burden was also impacted by a decrease in the in-person card pick up, because TSA has increased the mailing of cards to respondents reducing in-person pick up.
