Short Statement:
The previously approved number of respondents for FECA has increased from 1,378 to 2,920, which is a difference of 1,542. Consequently, burden hours have also increased, which were previously noted as 1,378 now adjusted to 2,920, a difference of 1,542. We attribute this increase as a result of an increase in the number of FECA claimants opting to have an authorized representative on their claims. There are no planned major changes to this letter at this time. The previously approved number of respondents for Black Lung has decreased from 300 to 165. Consequently, estimated burden hours have also decreased from 300 to 165. These changes are due to a decreased number of overpayments among the program. The previously approved number of respondents for EEOICPA has decreased from 200 to 150, which is a decrease of 50. The decrease is based on a review of the number of overpayments that have been assessed in the previous 3 years.
