USCIS will use the data collected through the H-1B Registration Tool to select a sufficient number of registrations projected as needed to meet the applicable H-1B cap allocations and to notify registrants whether their registration was selected to submit a USCIS Form I-129, Petition for Nonimmigrant Worker for H-1B classification.

USCIS is reporting an increase in the estimated annual hour burden to respondents for this collection of information as a result of the proposed rulemaking. USCIS has provided a synopsis of the edits associated with the changes to the information collection within the online filing instrument Copy Deck TOC for the H-1B Registration Tool. There is no change to the annual estimated cost burden to respondents for this information collection as a result of the proposed rulemaking.
