Terms of Clearance: OMB approves this ICR for a one-year renewal under the terms of clearance. The tobacco ingredient data collected by CDC (OMB Control No. 0920-0210) overlaps with that collected by FDA (OMB Control No. 0910-0650), resulting in manufacturers reporting essentially the same information to two agencies. Prior to the renewal submission (due June 2027), CDC is asked to provide OMB a memo with an action plan and timeline addressing operational and legal pathways to burden reduction, including the feasibility of a data-sharing agreement or MOU between the two agencies, and to identify any statutory barriers requiring Congressional action, given that both collections are independently mandated by separate statutes.

Abstract: This is a legislatively mandated information collection. As required by the Federal Cigarette Labeling and Advertising Act (15 U.S.C. 1335a(a), or P.L .89-92), CDC's Office on Smoking and Health collects information from cigarette manufacturers, packagers and importers about the ingredients used in cigarette products. This collection is commonly known as the Ingredient Report. This is a reinstatement with very minor changes.
