Short Statement:
APHIS is seeking approval of a revision of a currently approved information collection request. The currently approved burden for this request is 2,867 total annual respondents, 234,630 total annual responses and 111,339 total annual burden hours. This request for a renewal) is for 2,867 respondents, 234,529 estimated responses and 110,738 estimated burden hours. This request reflects a decrease of 0 respondents, a decrease of 101estimated responses and a decrease of 601 hours of estimated burden from the previous renewal request. There are no third-party disclosure burden estimates. Program Change(s) in estimate due to Agency discretion include: There are is a program changes decrease of -2 responses resulting in a decrease of -6 burden hours with the removal of VS forms 1-23, 1-23A and 1-26 and reporting in the New VS Permit information collection. Change(s) in estimate due to adjustments in estimate include: There is an adjustment decrease of -230,075 respondents resulting in a decrease of -99 responses and -595 total burden hours • Item 1: The number of respondents/responses for the VS 9-20 dropped from 14 States and 3 private entities to 4 States and 1 private entity. • Item 2: The number of respondents for the VS 9-21 dropped the same amount, while the number of responses dropped from 28 and 30 respectively to 20 for each. • Item 3: The number of respondents for the VS 9-22 also dropped from 14 States and 3 private entities to 4 States and 1 private entity, and from 43 and 3 responses respectively to 10 for each (although this is an increase for private entities). • Item 4: The number of respondents for the component audit fell from three to one, and the number of responses from 108 to 60. • Item 5: The number of respondents for the auditor application rose from one to five, with responses also increasing from one to five. The changes are the result of the leveling off of participation in the NPIP compartmentalization and AI and ND control programs, with an increase in interest in become compartment auditors.
