Abstract:
This propose rule would clarify program eligibility requirements in 7 CFR 3555 for USDA's Single Family Housing Guaranteed Loan Program (SFHGLP). Applicants seeking to purchase a home through USDA Single Family Housing Guaranteed (SF HG) program, must have acceptable citizenship or immigration status. Specifically, under current regulations, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen, a U.S. non-citizen national, or a qualified alien as required by section 401 of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PROGRAM) (8 U.S.C. section 1611).
