Title: ●User Fees for 2010 Crop Cotton Classification Services to Growers, CN-10-001
Abstract: The Agricultural Marketing Service is required by legislation to re-calculate and reestablish the user fee by June 1 each year—before harvest of the new crop begins. To meet the mandate that growers pay a uniform fee that truly covers U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) estimated cost of providing services, the USDA established, incorporation with industry new methodology for calculating the 2009 user fee. For this action, the Agricultural Marketing Services' Budget office has determined that there is no need to adjust the 2010 user fee from the current rate of $2.20 per sample set for the 2009 crop; however, developments affecting the world prices of commodities and the inputs of production will be closely watched until the proposed rule is prepared to ascertain the potential need for adjusting the user fee level.
